We’re looking for an additional Game Director to lead our next project

The Game Director owns the project’s creative vision and design challenges and translates it into mechanics, systems, and player experience. You will be in charge of project management would have acquired a strong knowledge in terms of prioritization, pipelines and scheduling.
You will also be the main link between the different stakeholders, internally and externally, and you will ensure that the quality and the vision of the project is followed.

You Will:

  • Create and apply a vision that is innovative, strong, appropriate, fitting with IP and implementable by the team
  • Follow through and ensure that the project vision is reflected in all stages of concept, pre-production, production, approval, ports and live phase.
  • Make sure that the artistic and design aspect of the game reflects the vision statement, from music, storytelling to art direction and game design
  • Define the methods and strategies appropriate to the project and champion them in cooperation with the team leads
  • Inspire and energize the team, utilizing pillars, research, and references to lead them towards creative success.
  • Demonstrate pragmatism, weighing the ‘perfect vision’ against the realities of quality, time and budget and seeing your project through to completion.
  • Collaborate with the main IP’s holders and ensure that all requirements and needs are fulfilled towards the project.
  • Identify, manage and minimizes risks within the project.
  • Make sure that the schedule is on point and that the priorities are correct for the project

Your profile…

  • Absolute passion for making computer games.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Lead Designer / Creative Director/Producer, on multiple shipped products
  • Proactive personality and excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent English skills (written and oral)
  • Solid understanding of production pipelines and familiarity with the scheduling process, user story creation, tasks under Jira / Confluence
  • Understanding of player mindsets especially regarding user experience and playability
  • Fluent with Unreal engine
  • Ability to prototype and demonstrate ideas
  • European citizen or EU / Austrian work permit
